Lakeside state of mind
Where there’s water, there’s life.
A stay at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake comes with top-rated amenities, breathtaking views of Lake Erie and the outstanding cuisine of Ohio Wine Country.
Everyone’s happier by the lake
“Walking along the water and listening to the waves is always a delight,” said Charlene Horgan, general manager of The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake. “The sunrises and sunsets here are spectacular. This is the formula for a lakeside state of mind.”
On the flip side, Lake Erie Canopy Tours gives you the chance to zip through the sky. And the renovated pool area, which features a number of outdoor games, encourages active fun. With Geneva State Park just a short walk away, The Lodge really has it all.
And while The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake is a destination in itself, there’s no shortage of nearby wineries, restaurants and gorgeous scenery to explore within the Grand River Valley. Along the shores of Lake Erie on The Strip, you’ll find a boardwalk-style row of shops, arcades, eateries and beer joints. As you venture to nearby wineries, stop to see the bevy of covered bridges that dot the rolling Ashtabula County countryside. Believe it or not, there are more covered bridges here than anywhere in the country.
The more, the merrier.
With plenty of outdoor space for gathering and multiple indoor meeting areas, The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake is a perfect destination for groups. Whether you’re traveling with friends and family or planning a meeting for a company or organization, The Lodge is happy to accommodate.
Where lakeside dreams begin
The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake offers a variety of accommodations that are perfect for whatever you need, whether it’s a wedding party, family, friends’ or couples’ retreat.
Choose from 109 lodge rooms and suites, ranging from double-queen rooms to king suites. The latter offers a separate bedroom with a king-sized bed, a comfy sitting room with a pullout sofa bed and a kitchenette. All rooms have complimentary Internet access and mini fridges. Book one of the rooms overlooking the lake. There, you can relax with a mug of coffee on your private balcony while watching the rays from the sunrise sparkle across the water.
If you’re traveling with a larger group, rent one of the 25 lakeside Explorer Cottages, where you can hang out on a private patio with family and friends. Each includes two bedrooms, a foldout sofa in the living room, a porch with rocking chairs, a gas fireplace and a kitchenette.
Soar above the shore
One Lodge attraction that rises above the rest is Lake Erie Canopy Tours, a zip lining course that takes you through the canopy of Geneva State Park and above the lake’s shoreline.
This Northeast Ohio aerial adventure offers three ways to thrilling exhilaration. First, there’s the Zip Line Canopy Tour, a guided trip above Geneva State Park that reaches speeds up to 30 miles per hour. You’ll be wowed by the views of the lake as you traverse sky bridges and then drift down from 60 feet up in the air. Race your traveling partner on the side-by-side double zip lines for some extra fun.
Test your limits on one of the two adventure courses. There’s one for adults and one for kids. These self-guided adventures include a network of wood and rope obstacles with some three dozen elements, ranging from super easy to rather difficult.
Or float down Cowles Creek with a kayak. As you take in the natural beauty, you just might see a zip liner speed by above.
Your Geneva-on-the-Lake home base
The Lodge is an opportune place to get back to nature, with trails on the property and in neighboring Geneva State Park.
There are numerous areas around the property that are perfect for taking in the sights, such as Horizons Restaurant, an extra-large fire terrace, the lakeside gazebo and indoor and outdoor pool decks. A two-mile, paved walking path runs along the lake and past the Geneva Marina and winds through Geneva State Park. If you prefer to explore on two wheels, guests are welcome to borrow a bike for free at The Lodge.
The Lodge’s outdoor pool area includes Erie Breeze, a large outdoor food-and-beverage pavilion. There’s also an expanded, fenced-in poolside area, large masonry fire pit, two shuffleboard courts, two bocce courts, a giant chessboard and a hydraulic door that opens the indoor pool deck to the outdoor deck in warmer months.
